Recently in the news as a product under test to defeat MRSA, Thyme essential oil has many qualities. It can be used as an antiseptic for the skin and in a hot compress to ease the pains of rheumatism. It is also good for insect bites and stings. Good for treating colds, coughs and sore throats and it is an excellent pulmonary disinfectant useful for all respiratory infections. Thyme blends well with rosemary, bergamot, lavender, marjoram, pine and lemon aromatherapy oil. Ideal to create a warming vapour run blend for the chest.
Be careful when using thyme essential oil as too much concentration can sting the skin.
