Also known as West Indian Sandalwood, Jamaican Sandalwood or West Indian Rosewood. Used for torches by fishermen and traders and know as ‘candle wood’ due to the high oil content. Sandalwood has been used in such practices as embalming, perfume making and also as incense. It is thought to have aphrodisiac capabilities. It is calming and an aid to stress relief. It has sedative properties and helps meditation. A muscle relaxant, emollient, soothing agent and stimulant. A cheaper alternative to Sandalwood Mysore. Blends well with: lavender, citronella and cedarwood.
