The following is a recipe that is being repeated across a number of equine web sites and blogs and we have local evidence of it being very effective:
“This recipe smells good, keeps the flies away, leaves the coat beautifully shiny and there is no build up.
3 caps of dettol from a 500 ml size bottle
250ml Avon Skin so Soft and Fresh.
1 teaspoon each of: Tea tree, Eucalyptus, Cedarwood Atlas, Lavender and Citronella
Put into a 1 litre spray bottle and top up with cold tea or water.
Shake well before spraying and frequently during spraying to keep the oils mixed”.
