Sea Salt and Oil Scrub

Salt scrubs are exfoliating scrubs that moisturise and enrich the skin. Designed for use in the shower, they combine the exfoliating effect of coarse sea salt with the moisturising effect of Sweet Almond Oil and in this case have the enrichment of Grapefruit essential oil, which can help with reducing the effects of cellulite, but you can choose your own essential or fragrance oil if you wish.

This recipe makes 1 x 250g jar:

Coarse Sea Salt (fill jar almost to the top)
5ml (1tsp) Grapefruit Oil (or your choice of essential oil)

Top up with sweet almond oil, making sure you re-fill until the level of the oil is maintained just above that of the salt.

A gentle body scrub, for those who don't like to use salt:

1 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup sweet almond oil or a mixture of sweet almond with 1/4 of a speciality oil such as cranberry seed oil.
5-8 drop fragrance oil (e.g. lime)

Mix together and put in a jar of appropriate size. Use after showering, take a handful and scrub skin with it. Rinse with water, but do not use any soap or shower gel afterwards, as you want the oils to continue moisturising and scenting.
